Guidelines for Repeating Affirmations – Positive Self Talk

daily-affirmations

1. Always phrase your affirmations in the present tense. You want to achieve your goal now, not in some indefinable future. For example, if your goal is to find a job, don’t say, “I will have a job”, using the future tense. Say, “I have a well-paying and wonderful job, which I love and enjoy”.

2. Use only positive and constructive words, describing what you really want to attain or achieve.

3. Be specific. Tell your mind exactly what it is that you want.

4. It is advisable to keep the affirmations short and easy to remember.

5. You should also include feelings and strong desire. You should feel and believe that what you are saying is already true. Feelings and emotions give life to your words.

6. You may repeat affirmations at any time you want or at special set times during the day. Immediately after waking up and before falling asleep are two very appropriate times, as at these times it is easier to get to the subconscious mind.

7. You may repeat affirmations aloud, mentally or by writing them down.

These are just basic instructions, but this self talk method will surely bring you results, if you follow the instructions.

Feeling Great

photo-37

Wouldn’t it be great to feel great? Stop for a moment and think of what it would be like. There are probably plenty of reasons why you’ve told yourself you cannot, or should not, feel great. Perhaps others have given you even more reasons. All those reasons may be completely true and valid. Yet they need not stand in your way of feeling great about yourself and the world in which you live, right now.

Pretend for a moment that every disappointment you’ve ever experienced is now in the past. Pretend for a moment that every reason you’ve had for holding yourself back has suddenly vanished. Just consider that it could be possible to feel great regardless of what others think of you, or do to you, or say to you. Consider that it could be possible to feel great, to be filled with joy and with life, no matter what your circumstances may be.

You don’t need anyone’s permission to feel great. In fact, you don’t need anything other than to simply let yourself do it. Accept the overwhelmingly blessed abundance of life that you’ve been given. All the frustrations, the pain, and the disappointments pale in comparison.

How exactly would you like to feel right now? Wouldn’t it be great to feel great? Give yourself permission to go ahead and feel that way. It may seem that you need a certain situation or possession or person in your life before you can feel the way you wish to feel. Yet the truth is that you can feel whatever you choose to feel at any time, in any place. You already know how to feel happy, or thankful, or loved, or inspired. So go ahead and let yourself feel the way you wish to feel, right here, right now.

It’s great when others offer encouragement to you, but you can also feel encouraged all by yourself. It is wonderful when someone expresses love to you, yet you can also feel the power of love even when you are alone. There is no need to wait or to beg or to compromise yourself in order to attain a certain feeling. All you must do is choose to feel the way you wish to feel. Go ahead and feel what you truly want to feel. Go ahead and feel as great as you can possibly imagine ever feeling.

The Courage To Be You

d980c24922434790f2a3375bfbb2ea1c

In order to live the life you want, you must be who you are. That may sound like a cute play on words, but think about it. Do you think your own thoughts? Do you dream your own dreams? Do you set your own goals? Or do you borrow them from someone else? Having more and more of what you don’t really want in the first place will not bring happiness. The life you desire will not come from following someone else’s dream, or someone else’s idea of the best place to live, or someone else’s idea of the best car to drive or the best way to spend your leisure time. True happiness and fulfillment require that you have the courage to be your own person. There’s a reason why you want the things you want. It is because you’re the person best equipped to achieve them. When you authentically pursue what you truly want from life, then you are fulfilling your own unique set of possibilities, making your own special contribution, creating value as only you can do.

You are unique, with your own special beauty and value to give to life. What a terrible shame it would be if you were to let that beauty be hidden behind your fears. When you worry that you’re not good enough, you allow others to control you, and their domination will soon make you miserable. Or when you fool yourself into thinking you’re superior to everyone else, you deny yourself the exquisite joy of offering your own special gifts to life. It takes courage and faith, effort and initiative to be who you are. And it is so very much worth the effort. Though no one else can do it for you, you have what it takes to be magnificently successful at being you. From the deepest secrets of your soul to the face you put forward to the world, every bit of you is meant to be the authentic and original person you are. Listen to that quiet, persistent voice inside that you know is always right. This is your opportunity to fulfill and express the real and lasting joy of being you. Let the beautiful person inside of you come more fully to life as each moment passes. Let yourself, and the world around you, know the joy and fulfillment that is meant just for you to express. There is no person you can pretend to be who is as powerful and effective as the person you really are. No identity you might try to manufacture will ever work as well as the identity that has always been a part of you. When you summon the courage to be the person you are, you’ll find that life is full and rich.

Give Yourself Something To Look Forward Tooooo

https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/a2/05/d2/a205d23ddf83814b6889652198ea1e81.jpg

You already know how great life feels when there’s something you’re looking forward to. Think of the week before you fly off on an eagerly anticipated vacation. Sure, you’re busy. There are a million things to do before the trip. But you don’t care. You do whatever has to be done. You’re in a great mood, excited and enthusiastic about life. That makes you highly effective at whatever you have to do.

Or what about the days leading up to a big get-together with family members you’ve been eager to see? Yes, there are all sorts of details to be worked out and jobs to be done. And you find yourself breezing through them all with a positive, enthusiastic attitude.

Close your eyes and remind yourself how supremely alive you feel when there’s something you’re eagerly anticipating, when there’s something for you to look forward to. Perhaps it’s the birth of a child or grandchild, a big football game, a party, or having dinner with a dear friend.

So Start Living …… The Choice Is Yours

Make Yourself #1

sayings-about-motivational_16878-1

Do not make someone a priority who has made you an option.
This time, take a pass to the front of the line, and make yourself #1 for a change. Whenever you say “yes” to someone else, you automatically say “no” to yourself. Practice the skills of actively creating what you want, protecting what you value, and acting decisively to change what is not working in your life.

Today…say “I do” to your own needs, growth, knowledge and to your dream. Make it non-negotiable to work on your own behalf and your dream every single day. This does not mean that you are selfish or insensitive to the people around you, or the other responsibilities in your life. Learning to say “No” to others and “Yes” to you…allows you to excel by setting appropriate boundaries on your time, energy and resources. Give yourself a real gift – the freedom to be who you really are and do what you were meant to do in the world. You were born for GREATNESS!

12 Ways To Become The Best Version Of Yourself

Become The Best Version of Yourself, old man starring in the mirror

1) Own it

Who are you? Who are you becoming? When becoming our best, we first have to believe that becoming better is in our full control. Own who you are. Own what you’ve been doing up to this point. Be real with yourself. Know that it’s you that got you here and it’s you who will take you wherever you want to go. We are in the driver’s seat of our life, even when it doesn’t feel like it we are. And today, we’re moving in a different direction.

2) Learn

What is 1 thing you could learn how to do, that would have a dramatic positive effect on your life? Is it, becoming a better communicator, or writer, or better study habits, stronger time management skills, video editing…who knows, no one does, but you. Identify one thing that you can learn that would impact your life, work or school. And, move towards learning it.

3) Create

When was the last time you creating something? For example, a blog post, a thank you note, a recent chapter in your book, or a new workout routine. Imagine if you got into the habit of creating every day. Of convincing yourself, that you can actually create anything you want. You can create the life you want. Start small. Start today. What is one small meaningful thing you can create today?

4) Move and Push

What will other people think? What if I fail? How difficult will it really be? OK, enough…it’s time to move. Reflecting and analyzing is great and can help you make better decisions, but overthinking is deadly. Overthinking kills your courage, creativity and consistency. Move forward. Pay attention. Adjust. Move again. Make sure you spend every day moving just a tiny bit closer to your best.

5) Surround yourself with great people

Do the people around you bring out your best? This is a simple question, that just can’t be avoided. This is one of the most important things you can do for self-improvement. If I were to ask you, “During the hard times, who contributed to the pain, failure and lack of progress?  You could probably give me a list, right? The same is true about our great times. Great times come from being with great people. Commit to only surround yourself with amazing people only! If you can’t find any, look in new places. They’re out there, and they’re waiting to meet you, and believe in you. Say it with me now, “Only great people!”

6) Stay excited

Are you happy? No, no, no, more importantly…are you excited about your life? I wish I could tell you that working on yourself and your dreams is easy. Most of the time…it’s not. To be blunt, most of the time you will feel like quitting. And for a short while, you just might. The idea here is to get excited about what you’re doing and remind yourself all the time of all the great things you already have within you and all the great things that are coming into your life. Stay excited about your work. Know that your best days are ahead of you, no matter what your age is.

7) Explore

Where have you been lately? It doesn’t matter if it’s abroad or within your own self. It’s time to travel. Routines and habits are incredibly powerful overtime, but so is the need to explore new places, new people, new ways of looking at the world, new perspective on problems and exploring new interests that we didn’t even know we had yet. It’s very difficult for us to know what we want in life, if we haven’t explored our life enough to see what’s really inside of us. And, what’s really inside of us only gets mixed up and brought to the surface when we explore, get out of our comfort zone and force ourselves to figure things out. So the next time you have an opportunity to explore, just simply go for it. You will never be the same again.

8) Have fun

Becoming a better person, a leader, a success story – all takes times. Trust me there will be days where it feels like you are making no progress at all. There will be times when you are convinced that all this effort is not worth it. That’s when you know you’re taking everything a little to serious and you need to have fun again.

Be excited about the problems you have. See them as blessing. Most problems people have, are really, really good problems. For example, if you’re having a hard time starting your business, think about the amazing and rare opportunity you have to even start one, own one, and get it going. People would kill for that kind of problem.

Or even if you have lost a loved one, thing about the amazing relationship that you were so blessed to have, knowing that not everyone has that same opportunity. Take a step back, have fun and know that it’s all part of your beautiful journey. Understand that everything we are going through at this moment is there to teach us something that will help us go to the next level.

9) Disconnect

There will be times when you need to completely turn off and shut down. Literally, just like your computer. It’s amazing how that thing works 10X better when you restart it! Ha! You’re the same way. Whether you’re working on yourself, a new work routine, rebuilding a broken relationship, changing careers…find time to pause, rest and chill.

10) Love yourself

Another huge one right here! Loving yourself is huge! It’s everything. Just take a second now and say, “I love myself.” Breath. Say it again. See how that feels. None of us are perfect and we will never be. We can’t become better people if we are constantly putting ourselves down and injecting shame into our life. Shame is one of the most powerful negative emotions we can feel and will stop us dead in our tracks to growth. Love yourself. All of yourself! “No one deserves your love more, than you” – Rumi

11) Love others

Think about some people in your life who support you. Have you told them recently how great you think they are. Think about someone who has wronged you, criticized you or talked behind your back. Are you still angry with them? Will you love everyone, of course not. But, it’s fair to say that everyone deserves forgiveness and, that loving others makes you feel better, in control and stronger. We have all made mistakes. And, we have all appreciated when someone forgave us. Pay it forward. When you love someone who has wronged you, you are taking full control of how YOU feel and are no longer allowing them to run the emotional show in your mind.

12) Take Risks and Have Faith

When was the last time you did something that scared you? And, it doesn’t have to be skydiving, or shark cage diving. Even though, I can’t wait to do those things! Ha!Maybe, it’s making a phone call. Maybe, it’s looking for a new job, taking a class or learning a new skill. Maybe, it’s finally putting down the concern of other people’s opinions of what you should be doing with your life. Take the risk. Take the plunge. Take the leap. You’re worth it and you will figure it out. Have faith.

Discover That You Can

You-have-to-risk-going-too-far-to-discover

It is amazing what you can do if you will simply do it. Instead of wondering whether or not you’re able, take action and discover that you can.

If you follow your vision, people might think you’re crazy. Persist in taking positive action, and show them how truly mistaken they are.

If all you ever do is think about it and wonder about it, you’ll come up with plenty of excuses. Take action, and all the excuses go out the window.

Go ahead and find out how wonderfully capable and effective you are. Go ahead and make your time count for something by making a meaningful difference with it.

Rock solid confidence comes from knowing that you can. Knowing that you can, comes from actually doing it.

Take that action, feel that confidence, and experience the power of your own abilities. Go ahead, make the effort, give it your best, and discover that you can.
